Coverage—How Much Do I Need?

 When planning any landscaping job that will use gravel, topsoil, mulch, or flagstone, one of the first questions that will come to mind is, “How much of this stuff am I going to need for the job?” To help you answer that question, here are some general guidelines:

Flagstone: One ton will cover about 90-100 square feet.

Top Soil and Gravel: One ton will cover approximately—

240 Square Feet at 1” deep. 120 Square Feet at 2” deep. 80 Square Feet at 3” deep.

60 Square Feet at 4” deep.  50 Square Feet at 5” deep. 40 Square Feet at 6” deep.

20 Square Feet at 12” deep.

Mulch: One Yard will cover roughly 120 Square Feet at 2” Deep and 60 Square Feet at 4” Deep
