Sod—Our Kentucky Bluegrass sod comes only in pallets and must be preordered. One pallet contains 64 rolls of sod, and each roll covers 8 square feet (thus, each pallet contains 512 square feet of sod). Sod has a very short shelf life, and should be put down immediately for best results.
Annual Ryegrass—A bunch grass used for pasture, turf, and erosion control that provides a quick, inexpensive ground cover. This grass has an aggressive root system that establishes quickly in poor and compacted soils. For long term use, reseeding is necessary. Grows well at high elevation. Seeding rate: Small areas, 6-8 pounds per 1,000 square feet; Large areas: 30-35 pounds per acre drilled; 30-35 pounds per acre broadcast.
Dryland Pasture Mix—A premium blend of cool season grasses suitable for the Intermountain region. This mix is composed of drought-tolerant, dryland forage grasses that are excellent for spring grazing and fall pastures, and for weed control and soil stabilization in erosion control areas. This mix is our bestselling mix! Seeding rate: 20-25 pounds per acre; broadcast rate: 30-35 pounds per acre.
Economy Irrigated Mix—An excellent mixture for forage and hay production in areas receiving little irrigation or in subirrigated areas. Seeding rate: 20-30 pounds per acre.
Indian Rice Grass—A highly drought-tolerant bunchgrass. Seed is slow to germinate and a fall dormant planting is often helpful for stratification. This grass is an excellent reclamation species for elevations up to 10,000 feet. Can be planted deep or shallow. Seeding rate: Small areas, 3-5 pounds per 1,000 square feet; Large areas, 10-15 pounds per acre drilled; 20-25 pounds per acre broadcast.
Low Grow Mix—A mixture of low maintenance cool season grasses that establish well in cooler areas below 8,000 feet. This grass is great for erosion control and transition turf areas, and better yet, it does not require frequent mowing. Seeding rate: Small areas, 1-2 pounds per 1,000 square feet; broadcast rate, 30-35 pounds per acre; drilled rate, 20-25 pounds per acre.
Low Maintenance Turf Mix—A rapid establishing and dense low-growing turf that requires infrequent mowing. This mix produces a fine texture that grows well in full sun but also tolerates shade and drought conditions. We do not recommend this grass for high traffic areas or athletic fields. Seeing rate: 3-5 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
Mountain Meadow Mix—A resilient pasture mix that is effective for soil stabilization and reclamation at higher altitudes. Works especially well in moist sites. Seeing rate: 20-30 pounds per acre; broadcast rate, 40-60 pounds per acre.
Perfect Lawn Mix—An inexpensive mixture of grasses that is perfect for creating a durable and moderately textured lawn. Seed grows quickly. Seeding rate: 5-7 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
Sheep Fescue—Common to higher elevations, this fescue is short-lived, but is more drought tolerant than other fescues and can survive with as little as 8-10” of rain annually. Sometimes used as a drought tolerant turfgrass, this fescue can live at elevations as high as 10,000 feet. Seeding rate: Small areas, 1-2 pounds per 1,000 square feet; larger areas, 8-10 pounds per acre drilled; 16-20 pounds per acre broadcast.
Sideoats Gramma—This gramma grows well in rocky soils up to 8,000 feet, and will get as tall as 18-36”. Sideouts gramma is an excellent grass for conservation purposes because of its vigorous seedling production. Seeding rate: Small areas, 1-2 pounds per 1,000 square feet; larger areas, 8-10 pounds per acre drilled; 16-20 pounds per acre broadcast.
Supreme Lawn Mix—A blend of fine-textured grass species that form a dense and uniform lawn with deep color. This grass provides excellent wearability, winter hardiness, and outstanding disease resistance. Seeding rate: 4-6 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
Transition Turf Mix—This blend is composed of primarily cool season grasses that do well on infertile, course soils in both the foothills and mountains. This mix has excellent tolerance of traffic, sun, shade, and compacted soils. Seeding rate: 1-2 pounds per 1,000 square feet.
Ultimate Color Mix—A blend of lower-maintenance cool season grasses that establish well and require infrequent mowing. This mix provides good erosion control and is well suited for turf transition areas. Contains 5% wildflower seeds. Seeding rate: Small area, 1-2 pounds per 1,000 square feet; larger area drill rate, 20-25 pounds per acre; broadcast rate, 30-35 pounds per acre.
Western Native Mix—A mixture of native cool and warm season grasses in the western United States that will grow well between 3,000 and 10,000 feet. This blend of grasses performs well in reclamation as well as ornamental conditions and provides excellent natural cover and soil stabilization. Seeding rate: 15-20 pounds per acre; broadcast rate, 20-25 pounds per acre.
