Edible Shrubs
Fruit bearing shrubs—cherries, chokecherries, currents, elderberries, gooseberries, raspberries, sandcherries, and serviceberries—can be a beautiful (and nutritious) addition to your landscape. These shrubs provide stunning spring color with their vibrant blossoms, adding some early season visual appeal to your yard. They can vary in height from quite small (about 4’) to quite large (about 20’) and in width from 3-12’, thus giving you a range of possibilities for simply filling that “hole” in your yard or for creating a garden of fruit bearing shrubs.
