Ornamental Trees
Ornamental trees are deciduous trees that bloom, or flower, in the spring. In general, ornamental trees are smaller in terms of both height and width than shade trees. On average, ornamental trees fall in the 15-20’ tall range with a few topping out at 30-35’. Their canopies range from 10’ to 20’ with the average falling between 12-15’ in width. Ornamental trees tend to have either white, pink, or reddish blooms that appear in the spring that typically last for 2-3 weeks, depending on the weather (high winds in our area can remove blooms in short order!). Ornamental trees are a great way to add some early season color to your yard and some of these, like crabapples, can also serve as pollinators for any nearby apple trees! Brady’s West carries every ornamental tree that will grow at 7000’ and beyond.
